Introduction to my fabulous blog
Hello cyber space! Have you checked your friend's status updates on facebook today? Or perhaps signed onto Twitter to see what Kim Kardashian, or LeBron James is doing today? Did you make sure to let everyone know that you ate waffles for breakfast--aka changed your status? This is just the beginning of what we scholars like to call microblogging. While ideally this technology would be used to organize groups of rebels to overthrow an oppressive regime or by scientists collaborating across the world to finally cure cancer, most often microblogging serves the same purpose as a t-shirt or bumper sticker (only it's more flexible and easier to change.) Try to imagine a day when you didn't use these technologies--can you even remember recall the last time you laid on the beach without your phone, laptop, ipad, hand held device, or the many other technological devices you own? Can you imagine communicating without use of your thumbs? No way! (Neither can I.) My blog is going to debate, educate, and illuminate the many uses and forms of microblogging. ENJOY!
